About Us

Welcome to Woodbridge.  Our neighborhood is located northwest of Augusta, GA in rapidly-growing Columbia County.  Containing 185 homes, Woodbridge is a "pool and tennis" community established in early 1970's.  The following make it a unique and desirable place to live.

The covered bridge is the neighborhood's namesake and most recognizable feature.  Built during the subdivision's development in 1973, destroyed by flood in 1990 and rebuilt in 1992, it has become a popular backdrop for photographers from all over the area.  The covered bridge serves as a focal point for the neighborhood's decorations each holiday season.

Woodbridge completely surrounds a 24 acre lake which is stocked with largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, shellcracker and catfish.  The lake is also home to ducks, geese, egrets, herons and cormorants.  Residents have observed hawks, osprey and on rare occasions, bald eagles flying over.  Beavers and muskrats take up residence periodically, but because they can be destructive, are discouraged from making our lake their home.  Otters appear from time to time and are always entertaining.  Homeowners use the lake for fishing, sailing, kayaking and canoing.  Although waterfront homesites are private property, the lake is bordered by two common areas - adjacent to Woodbridge Drive and along  the dam - offering lake access to all residents.

The neighborhood is fully built-out with homes of many architectural styles.  Homes are situated on large lots from .5  to 5 acres and most are heavily wooded.  The trees provide abundant shade to homeowners as well as cover and food for the neighborhood's diverse wildlife population.  It is not unusual to spot deer, fox, opossum, rabbit and raccoon roaming the neighborhood especially in the early mornings and evenings.  Because of the number of trees, squirrels and birds are numerous.

Although over four decades old, the pool and tennis facilities in Woodbridge are among the finest in the area.  The pool has undergone several renovations to keep it current with regulations governing its operation.  It is professionally managed and a lifeguard is on duty daily during the summer.  It serves as a competition venue for the neighborhood's swim team and a summertime gathering spot for Woodbridge residents of all ages.  A lighted pavilion serves the pool providing shade from the sun and shelter from inclement weather.  The pavilion offers restrooms, picnic tables, vending machines and a grilling area.  Two tennis courts offer an excellent playing surface and are lighted allowing night-time play.  A childrens' playground lies adjacent to both the pool and tennis courts.

Although Woodbridge's location was considered rural for many years, recent commercial development has brought shopping, dining and entertainment options to within close proximity.  Even so, once within the confines of Woodbridge, the large lots and wooded landscape make one feel secluded and far-away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Evans Town Center.
