Hello neighbors, I’d like to give you an update on three items:
1.) Pool Opening - We had every intention of moving the opening date for the pool from the 1st Saturday in May to April 15th going forward. Unfortunately, the leak repair project is taking more time than we anticipated. I guess if you build a pool in a pine tree forest you should expect a lot of roots in the pipes after 50 years. The good news is the entire piping system has been replaced. The bad news is it takes a long time to replace all 78,000 gallons of water. Once it is full, then they can test the system before backfilling all the trenches, clean it up and get the state inspection done. Bottom line is the pool could be ready by next Saturday the 25th and we are percent sure by the normal 1st Saturday of May opening date. The grass outside the deck might not be pretty but the pool should.
2.) Gate Access Fobs - The gate key fobs that open both the court gate and pool gate are the same as last year. Once the pool is officially open, the security company will toggle your fob on to open the pool gate. If you are new to the neighborhood, please contact me at (706) 833-7846 so that I can get a gate key fob to you.
3.) Assessments - We are a bit past two weeks beyond the April 1st due date for the annual assessment of $550. The good news is that we had 124 lots, or 67%, pay by April 1st. The bad news is checks have slowed drastically since then. We deposited only another 20 lots by April 18th, leaving about 1/4th of the lots left to pay. I realize many of you are used to paying at ‘key day’ or opening day of the pool. There really is no need for a key day anymore with the swim team still dormant. So, if you have not sent in your check yet, please do so before the end of April.
Thanks and please text or call me at (706) 833-7846 if you have any questions.
